Actually, we have already told you why site optimization is necessary. Now we shall consider in detail the main stages of project optimization.
Site optimization may include:1. Study of the project content, its rework. It is important not only to find the key phrase on a page or site to be promoted. It is also very important to know that search engines take into account such parameters as: density of a key phrase per a page/site in the whole, locations of key phrases, amount of text on pages and other important factors. Our experts perform adaptation of the text content of a site to algorithms and preferences of search engines. Also, at this stage, the work for introduction of key phrases from the semantic core defined earlier is performed with the purposes of the project promotion. At this stage, content development for the site is also possible as agreed upon with the customer.
2. Work with Meta-tags.Some search engines give great preference to finding of a key phrase in the page name (the “Title” meta-tag), page description (the “Description” meta-tag) or to finding of a key phrase in the “Keywords” meta-tag. This stage means a complex of actions for writing of Meta data with the purpose of achieving the greatest preference on the part of search engines.
3. Actions for improvement of the site indexing capacity. This stage may include:
- Composition of the 'robots.txt' file
The 'robots.txt' file serves to prohibit these or those search robots from indexing a part of the site or the whole of it. The majority of search engines easily ignore the fact of absence of the file, but its composition is desirable to avoid, at least, recording errors in log files of the hosting server.
- Elimination of links from JavaScript or Flash
Many search engines do not index links from JavaScript or Flash, therefore it is desirable to use them as little as possible. If links to internal pages are set by means of Java or Flash, search engines will never see them. At this stage it is also possible to create a site map to improve indexation of all the pages of the site.
- Dynamic pages
For some reasons, search engines feel it hard to index dynamic pages of sites or do not index them at all. At this stage, it is possible to perform certain actions for reorganization of URLs to pages of the site to pseudo-static ones, when pages have the .html extension to avoid this problem.
