46 Ideas on How to Use IFTTT for Your Business

IFTTT is an abbreviation from “if this, then that” and the name of the social media automation tool. An easy way to remember is the word “gift” without a letter “g”, which the software really is. IFTTT tool is free and the principle of work is to create an automated task, they call it “recipe”, with various technologies – “ingredients”, following the basic format of “if THIS (ingredient 1) happens, the do THAT (ingredient 2)”.

  1. If new status posted on Facebook by you, then add to Buffer.
  2. If you posted a photo on Instagram, then add to Buffer.

  5. If you created a post in Buffer, then add to Google Calendar.

  8. If you posted a new Tweet, then add to Buffer.
  9. If you created a note in Notes, then add to Buffer.

  12. If there is a new Instagram post with a specific hashtag, then add to Dropbox.

  10. If a video from your YouTube Channel is added as favorite, then add it to your blog.
  11. If someone comments a blog post, then send an SMS alert.
  12. If a competitor uses specific tags, then send me an email alert.
  13. If a user joins a group or event on Facebook, then save it to a Google Sheets.
  14. If you are tagged in a photo on Facebook, then send the image to Dropbox.
  15. If the weather changes, then receive an SMS alert.
