News from StatCounter: Mobile Wins
It’s hard to clasify this news either as a good or a bad one, but the study shows that mobile Internet use passes desktop for the first time. 51.2% of Internet traffic comes combined from mobile and tablet devices. 50+% of users in the U.S. and in the U.K. also use their smartphones and tablets to access the Web.
“This should be a wake up call especially for small businesses, sole traders and professionals to make sure that their websites are mobile friendly. Many older websites are not,” commented Aodhan Cullen, CEO, StatCounter.
Therefore, the simple rule for companies that start something new online is: “Think about mobile first.” Moreover, it seems that this trend is unlikely to change.
