Client

Unbench is a B2B platform that connects companies with vetted experts and teams in the development, design, marketing, and recruitment niches.

Challenge

The platform was a new market entrant with minimal search visibility. The key challenge was to develop an SEO strategy for a startup that ensures optimization of the new site according to search engine requirements.

Partner

We worked on this project with our partner Kitrum. The software engineering company was responsible for designing and developing a scalable vendor management platform with white-label potential from the ground up. For technology, tools, and detailed insights into the development process, read their full case study.

Solution

Since Unbench was a new entrant in the market, we began with in-depth SEO research

SEO Research & Analysis

Building a strong SEO strategy starts with knowing the market. Before touching site architecture or content, we needed to understand where the opportunities were and how to prioritize them.

Markets Analysis

We began with market research. Our SEO team identified the most promising countries by analyzing search volumes in different regions.

We found that competitors receive the largest share of their traffic from the US. The UK places the second rank among all countries.

This insight allowed us to focus on regions with the highest ROI and set a clear, data-driven direction for expansion.

Competitor Analysis

We studied leading platforms in each target market to understand their site structures, content strategies, E-E-A-T signals, and technical SEO.

The analysis indicated that competitors receive most traffic on company pages, blogs, and resume sections, while some rely heavily on branded queries and job or career pages. These patterns highlighted the importance of balancing brand visibility, authoritative content, and high-intent pages to outperform competitors organically.

Keyword Research and Clustering

We also conducted semantic research and keyword clustering, collecting and grouping relevant keywords as well as mapping them to potential pages. This ensured every page of the platform would target the right terms and meet user intent.

As a result of our research for the client, we found out that users rarely go beyond the 5th search result on Google, while the top 3 positions capture 55% of clicks. With this in mind, our goal was clear: secure top 3 rankings in search results for all priority target queries.

Site Structure Expansion

During the analysis, we found that the main competitor had a much more extensive site structure, which directly contributed to higher search visibility and broader keyword coverage.

To address this, we worked closely in partnership with the development agency to create a relevant site structure. It allowed us to expand the number of indexable pages and better reflect the user intent.

Blog and Content Strategy Creation

To expand organic reach and capture high-intent search demand, we introduced a blog as a core SEO growth channel. Its primary goal was to attract target keywords at different stages of the user journey and consistently bring qualified traffic to the platform.

Promodo’s SEO team developed a content plan based on keyword research and competitor analysis, identifying priority topics, formats, and keyword clusters. For each article, we prepared a detailed content brief.

E-E-A-T Factors

Given the series of Google updates aimed at strengthening the role of expertise, authority, and trust in search rankings, we recommended adjustments focused on improving the platform’s E-E-A-T signals.

One of the key recommendations was the creation of author profiles for content pages, highlighting the real experts behind the materials, their experience, and professional background.

Link Building Strategy

Since competitors were actively strengthening their backlink profiles, we included link building as one of the key focus areas of the SEO strategy.

The goal was to gradually increase domain authority and support priority pages by acquiring high-quality, relevant backlinks.

We secured 19 high-quality backlinks from authoritative sources over a 7-month period.

This approach allowed us to stay competitive in organic search and reinforce the site’s authority in line with E-E-A-T requirements.

Results

Over the 8-month period, the platform achieved a remarkable 91.7% overall growth in traffic. These results validate the effectiveness of integrating an SEO strategy from the start and establish a strong foundation for further organic expansion in priority markets.
